The kitchen at my home in Arizona had the look it had when the house was built in the 1970s- wood paneling and dark wood cabinets. When my sister and her husband visited for three days last summer, we did the make over with new paint for the cabinets, new cabinet hardware, a brighter color for the walls, new lighting fixtures, and a very nifty surface paint that we did on the old countertops.

My sister Harriet deserves the bulk of the decorating credit!
